One Year after October 7th

Remembering the day and the day that changed my views

Time passes so quickly. I counted each day. I rolled my eyes and doubted my ears too often at what journalists have said over the past year and also at some of the lawmakers’ statements. Also about hostages. October 7th marks the first year since the brutal terror attack took place. One year passes so quickly. The photo I’ve put is something that was taken at Nir Oz base the night before October 7th massacre. Only one IDF female soldier was saved by the fellow IDF in Gaza. The Japanese media, NHK, has been busy quoting words from Gazan Health Ministry, which is run by Hamas.

It was shocking to see the atrocities but the atrocities by the Palestinian terrorists were not something I saw for the first time. There have been constant terrorist attacks by Palestinian terrorists in Israel. Yesterday, there was one horrific terrorist attack in Be’er Sheva. One innocent girl died. What was her guilt? I can’t help reaching conclusion that it’s because she’s Jewish, as I hear from people.

Every time the Palestinian terrorists are teenagers, Al Jazeera describes as this, “IDF shot innocent Palestinian teenagers.” So do the Japanese news outlets. Especially, NHK, which has been aring Al Jazeera for decades. The Japanese media have labeled Israel as a nation that is forceful and uses arms. Then, one question arises. Has Japan been peaceful, looking back a couple thousands of years? The answer is clearly no. This is what Al Jazeera made to commemorate October 7th.

I had to be silent on Israel for a while even on social media. I used to often criticize UNWRA and other issues. If anyone thinks that this is made out of rage, the person is just too naive. This is what is called a propaganda and I’m very disappointed to say but the Japanese media is filled with propaganda, even though they criticize and point at others. Also, NHK coordinates with Al Jazeera very frequently, the very media that created the image for October 7th.There is no sensitivity in what Al Jazeera does as a media and they don’t uphold the morality to report the news to the people. For decades, most of the questions were just in myself or with a few limited people.

I’m well aware that the news outlets cut and edits the video clips and makes some image to the public. However, if it goes as far as Al Jazeera, it’s a war-time propaganda and the Japanese media calls it, “freedom of press.” Two days ago, Al Jazeera shared this skit to their official site.

Al Jazeera’s skit which was posted on X

NHK calls press organization like Al Jazeera “a press in the Middle East. Israel hinders the freedom of press by oppression.” Their typical phrases. They just called out the death of Al Jazeera journalist who was a Hamas fighter during the combat with IDF, the death of the journalist, documenting October 7th. What appears to be so clear and shocking at the same time is the “media complex” against the U.S. and lies they have created reflects the source of power. Showing support of Gazan terrorists is not out of compassion. They have long history of complexities against the US values for decades, not just after October 7th. They outburst when they start to talk about Israel. In a way, their deeds are against the United States.

NHK doesn’t even translate the testimony Israel made in ICC into Japanese and also the evidence the Israeli government officially presented to the court. The Japanese journalists are so willing to cover the war in Gaza as if they were the justice seekers. However, the “justice-wanna-be” supports skit like this, is very perplexing and troubling to the future of the security of the world. Where is the world heading, I often wonder these days.

These are the weapons they were released by IDF two days ago.

It is a history of shame especially during WWII. For 79 years, I wanted to believe that the media has made some more more neutral. However, that is something that I wanted to believe. It’s difficult for people to totally be fair all the time. However, is it difficult to understand the mourning of the Israeli people to the Japanese journalists? Or some media organizations that support Hamas as resistance organization. What they’ve actually been doing by criticizing the wars U.S. has been involved has been the criticisms against the U.S. itself. It is obvious but Gaza, to the Japanese journalists, seems to be their own opportunity. The same old war-time propaganda. They can’t erase that history of the stain and they’re now supporting the same old friend, the criminal terrorists or propaganda machine and serve for Mullah regime, even using Islamic Republic supporter as a panelist.

Many Japanese people don’t have much knowledge about the problems of radical Islamic groups that partially in Japan. Back in the 1970s, Shigenobu Fusako organized a number of terrorist attacks against Israel and the U.S. There were many socialist groups which commit a number of brutal acts globally. They were indeed Japanese. Shigenobu Fusako was one of the worst of the worst and what she did was far from heroic. She is shameless and barbaric.

However, after finishing sentencing, she has been appearing on TV, calling “barbarism” as something much more virtuous and writing books of her life. To seek attentions, TV stations and news outlets organize interviews with her. What she talks about is propaganda of the war that is happening in Gaza right now. She trained PLO during the 70s and screamed the term “Free Palestine.” To the young ignorant university students who get into elite universities in the West, this phrase that comes with bots and propaganda spread from Iranian regime were attractive. Young students screaming “Free Palestine” was something of a familiar phrase Shigeko Fusanobu was screaming. It wasn’t new to me at all but the media reported as if it were a new movement. It’s not and this Hamas supporting movement will end with horrible consequences.

At the same time, so many freelance journalists who died in Gaza have already been confirmed Hamas fighters/commanders. NHK is now calling it “Israel’s lies” or “Netanyahu’s lies.” NHK still lies to the Japanese public who depend only on TV. This same old organization propagated the Pacific War, “promoting people to sacrifice themselves.” This organization is now calling Hamas “sacrifice of the people” by denying the fact that the press jacket journalists they interviewed could all be confirmed as who they are. They keep pointing to Netanyahu’s regime but what they’re doing is calling this baby a criminal Jew.

Photo of Kfir Bibas

The youngest hostage stolen by Hamas is Kfir Bibas. He turned one year old under captivity on January 18th this year. His birthday was under the captivity of Hamas, not with his family. There were Holocaust survivors who were killed. I have exchanged words with some people whose relatives or friends were killed. Do you think I can ask “Are you OK?” They’re not OK and, even after one year, Israel is going through a very difficult time.

Reza Pahlvi the exiled Prince of the Kingdom of Iran, made a statement for the Iranian people and people in the region. He accepted many Jewish people from neighboring countries who were going through persecution.

Believe it or not, Iranian people are going through persecution by its current Mullah regime. Ayatollah Khamenei has been exercising public executions and using morality police to torture and murder Iranian people inside and outside Iran. There are Iranian operatives operating in the West and Iranian people, whom the Khamenei regime consider as threats, are faced with dangers.

It has been a very difficult year for Israeli people and the Jewish state Israel. I had a lot to think over the past year. Islamic Republic had taken over Iran in 1979 and since then it has ruled the country for over 4 decades. Iran itself is a nation of history and culture but it is now a sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East. Israel has had to withstand this for so long and I hope that the true peace is beared in the Middle East with the end of Mullah regime.

Nothing is impossible.

After October 7th, I realized how important it is to have strong views on my own and not be driven by the public opinions. I have supported Israel and love Jewish people but I am very clear about these two now.

Commemorating one year, I pray for the victims of October 7th and also pray for the hostages in Gaza.
