As a human beyond nationalities, I do hope that people share this painful history of Japan. I write this not out of hatred toward the U.S. Army or British Army at that time. There were many casualties among the U.S. Army and the British Army in the Okinawa Battle. June 23st is the day for them in addition to Korean and Taiwanese people who fought for Japan. For everyone who lost their lives in Okinawa. It is a day of prayers for peace in their soul in Okinawa. And, it is a day for every Japanese to remember what peace means to Japan.

I can’t remember when exactly. However, it was not about Okinawa. On August 15th, a TV documentary showed a diary or elementary school student saying, “The loss of Japan is disappointing.” It was one of millions of students’ opinions in Japan. The documentary did not tell where the student resided.
